Clove and Honey Preserved Oranges

Makes 2-1/4 cups

  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 navel oranges, washed but not peeled
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

In medium saucepan, whisk together honey, orange juice and lemon juice until well blended. Cut oranges in half lengthwise; cut each half into slices 1/8- to 1/4-inch thick. Stir into honey mixture. Add cloves and cinnamon stick; bring mixture to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat to low and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, or until oranges are tender. Remove from heat and cool. Pour into decorative container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
