Tupelo Honey Waffles


* 2 cup flour

* 3 teaspoon baking powder

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 1 1/2 cup milk

* 2 tablespoon plus

* 1 cup Savannah Bee Company Tupelo Honey

* 2 eggs, separated and whites beaten

* 1/2 cup melted shortening

* 2-4 tablespoon butter

* 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


Sift dry ingredients into a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, combine milk, 2 tablespoons honey, egg yolks, shortening, and add to dry ingredients. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in hot waffle iron.

For syrup, heat 1 cup Savannah Bee Company Tupelo Honey in top of double boiler. Add butter and cinnamon, if desired. Serve warm.
